: Campaign Vision<\/h3>\n<h6>What\u2019s needed?<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>An end to public toilet closures \u2013 authorities acceptance that use of a toilet is a basic human need and a Toilet Provision Strategy must be implemented in all towns and cities to ensure adequate facilities are provided<\/li>\n<li>More clean hygienic publicly accessible toilets in all towns and cities throughout the UK<\/li>\n<li>Inclusive facilities for all types of users where and when needed<\/li>\n<li>Changing Places toilet in every major town and city<\/li>\n<li>Independent audits to ensure compliance to standards , e.g. Loo of the Year Awards<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p>\u2018WHERE CAN I GO?\u2019 I\u2019m old and I need to know that there will be a toilet available for me to go when I\u2019m away from home.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>Age Friendly Facilities<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Adequate toilet facilities for the number of users at the location<\/li>\n<li>Accessible facilities \u2013 no steps or steep inclines<\/li>\n<li>Safe facilities \u2013 attendants on duty, well lit with exposed entrances<\/li>\n<li>Facilities available when needed \u2013 not just 09.00 to 17.00<\/li>\n<li>Larger cubicles available for the ambulant with wider cubicle doors<\/li>\n<li>Shelves for bags and hooks for outer clothing<\/li>\n<li>Door handles and locks easy to use and in good working order<\/li>\n<li>Automatic or push taps<\/li>\n<li>A warm, clean, nice smelling environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p>\u2018WHERE CAN I GO?\u2019 I have special needs and I need accessible facilities available to me that enable me to go when and where I need to on my journeys<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>DDA Compliant Accessible Facilities<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>DDA compliant access to the facility<\/li>\n<li>Adequate space for the user and at least one carer<\/li>\n<li>Planned to provide access to the WC, washbasin and all other facilities via a wheelchair<\/li>\n<li>DDA compliant grab rails to door, beside WC and wash basin<\/li>\n<li>Clean non-slip floor surface<\/li>\n<li>Toilet tissue, hand washing and drying facilities<\/li>\n<li>Shelf for bags and hooks for outer clothing<\/li>\n<li>Sanitary and continence pad disposal<\/li>\n<li>A warm, clean, nice smelling environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>\u00a0Adult\/Child Changing Facilities (for those with severe and multiple learning difficulties)<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>A minimum of 3.5m x 2m to provide space for the user and 2 carers<\/li>\n<li>Separate from other able bodied toilets<\/li>\n<li>Floor with non slip surface<\/li>\n<li>Fitted with height adjustable adult sized changing bed<\/li>\n<li>Fitted with a tracking hoist system<\/li>\n<li>Fitted with a screen or curtain to provide privacy<\/li>\n<li>A wide paper roll to cover the changing bed<\/li>\n<li>Hand washing and drying facilities for carer<\/li>\n<li>Shelf for bags and hooks for outer clothing<\/li>\n<li>Sanitary and continence pad disposal<\/li>\n<li>A warm, clean, nice smelling environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p>\u2018WHERE CAN I GO?\u2019 I\u2019m a young child or baby and I need family friendly toilet facilities so that I can be changed while I am away from home by a male or female parent or carer<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>Family Friendly Facilities<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>A dedicated unisex family toilet or both male and female facilities<\/li>\n<li>Pushchair access<\/li>\n<li>Clean and safe baby change surface<\/li>\n<li>Nappy disposal<\/li>\n<li>Child friendly d\u00e9cor<\/li>\n<li>Low level WC and washbasin for children<\/li>\n<li>Shelves for bags and hooks for outer clothing<\/li>\n<li>Toddler seat<\/li>\n<li>A warm, clean, nice smelling environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p>\u2018WHERE CAN I GO?\u2019 I have anxieties about using a toilet and I need a clean and hygienic toilet where I can go and feel safe<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>Safe discreet facilities<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Female toilets with access separate from the male toilet access<\/li>\n<li>Sound privacy &#8211; where feasible provide background sound<\/li>\n<li>Visual privacy \u2013 install bowl urinals with privacy screens<\/li>\n<li>Modesty screening between the urinal area and other areas e.g. wash basins, hand dryers entrance door (sizing\u2026).<\/li>\n<li>Cubicle walls and doors to ideally be floor to ceiling, but in default of that: floor gaps to be the minimum needed to facilitate cleaning<\/li>\n<li>Secure cubicles \u2013 locks that work<\/li>\n<li>Lighting that is soft in tone<\/li>\n<li>A warm, clean, nice smelling environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>The above criteria are those which form Best Practice Advice from the BTA<\/h4>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8216;Where Can I Go&#8217;
